In town for a conference. One of my colleagues found this place via Yelp. Best discovery of the week. Worth the visit!! The green curry was fantastic.

Visiting from TX -- saw the good reviews and decided to give it a try. It was a fantastic meal -- I had the Pad Thai and my friends had the salmon and curry. Both loved it! Highly recommend!

Simple the best Thai Food in South Florida. I drive 45 miles from Fort Lauderdale to go here every month for dinner. I have been on culinary tours to Thailand 6X, and have been to nearly every Thai restaurant in South Florida. This is most authentic and best Thai food I have ever had in the US. The owners have put their blood, sweat, tears, and cash into creating a beautiful sanctuary in a somewhat transitional industrial area. I usually have the red snapper and a green papaya salad. Simple perfect. The presentation of the food is spectacular, and makes you feel like you are in a 5-star restaurant in South Beach. I only wish they could open a location closer to Fort Lauderdale !!!

I really like this place. I go there often because of the great food, reasonable prices and fast service. If you like Thai, you will go back. Weird location but still worth it. Sit outside in the back.

I am now a fan of this newly emerging Thai restaurant. The food was amazing, and the staff was amazing. Today is 10/10/12. I am a 20 year food service individual covering the gambit from server, bartender, manager and now holistic chef. I was so impressed with my simple dish Of vegetables, rice, with ginger sauce. I have never found such an array of vegetables in a dish, at any restaurant, in the 43 years of my life, (Broccoli, green beans, asparagus, cauliflower, mushrooms, carrots, snow peas, celery, red and green peppers). It is hard to find clean, well prepared, vegetable dishes in this town. My hat goes off to you guys. Every bite was a celebration to my palate. The sauce was incredibly succulent. I was able to taste a truly hearty stock full of depth and a blend of flavors that I will dream of tonight trying to discern the complex recipe and length of time to prepare. That what was so impressive. It was not a canned or quickly thrown together simple sauce. I will stop there. Consider letting this kitchen feed your soul.

Not impressed. Went there for New Years dinner. The appetizers were good but the main dish was soupy and boring. Had the Teriyaki Chicken. Didn't like it. Tasted blah! The most disturbing thing was there was a table of 5 homosexuals next to us that keep doing inappropriate things like smacking each other on the butt, sitting on the lap of another and grinding. We are in a restaurant people! Act appropriately! I would have been just as appalled if it was a heterosexual couple doing it. There is a time and place for sort of thing and its not in a restaurant! No class & not impressed!

Wonderful experience at this newish Thai joint!! The food was packed full of flavor and totally awesome. I loved the money bags and my boyfriend (pickiest eater ever) almost completely lost his mind over them! Green curry and duck there are very very good! The staff are super friendly and nice as can be! Local restaurant and charming too! Looking forward to our next visit!

First of all, I just want to say that I am SUPER critical when it comes to food. I'm no seasoned food critic, but everyone who knows me knows that on the rare occasion that I do go out to eat... I expect great food and quality service. Furthermore, I live in New York where there are millions of Thai restaurants. That being said, this was HANDS DOWN the best Thai food/experience I have EVER had... EVER. My bf and I were in town and after seeing the great reviews on Yelp we settled on Malakor. I have to admit we were a bit skeptical when we pulled up. The inside is a bit small but the hostess recommended we sit indoors because there were mosquitoes outside. She asked if we had a reservation and I was a bit puzzled since there was only one other couple sitting at a table. Well, after about five minutes of being seating, the entire restaurant filled up! We ordered the drunken noodles with tofu, Massaman curry with tofu and brown rice, and a whole fried snapper with the basil topping. I had a sake leechee martini and the bf had a beer. Every single thing we ate and drank was amazing! The food was so tasty and served with a ton of fresh veggies. We definitely enjoyed our meal! The service was also great. The waitress was so pleasant and she kept coming over to see if we were enjoying the food. She told us that the chef was actually from Thailand... (Please note that the majority of chefs in Thai restaurants in New York are NOT from Thailand). We will definitely be back the next time we are in the area! PS The decor is amazing. It really makes you feel like you're in Thailand!

Met two friends for lunch this week. My first Thai food experience. We sat in the back patio area which is an oasis. You would never know you were in the middle of an urban neighborhood. Really beautiful. I had the spicy seafood salad and ordered it at a level 2 which was way, way too spicy for me. My problem, not theirs. Seafood and salad were fresh, and the service was friendly. Prices were reasonable. As an aside there were a table of monks dining inside. Two came out onto the patio after their meal to wish us well. Apparently they were in West Palm for a ceremony and were on their way to the airport. It was really special. I recommend this restaurant, and will dine there again.

Malakor has the best massaman curry I've ever had. Big chunks of avocado and sweet potato, and plenty of cashews. Yumm! Last night I had the lobster massaman for the first time and ate it all save a little curry juice. Had mango and sticky rice for dessert. I love the atmosphere both inside and outside and the staff has been nothing but nice every time I've been there.

I always order the Massamum Curry. It's super yummy. Service is great, its in old Northwood so can be a little sketchy parking but worth it.

This is one of our favorite restaurants, my daughter loves sitting in the booth next to the fish tank. I always get either the chicken satay or crispy money bags for an appetizer and both are delicious! I've tried several entrees and everything i've had was good. The decor is all hand painted and really beautiful.

I'm giving 3 stars only because I have eaten here about 6 times and it's been up and down. I've had the Pad Woon Sen (clear noodles) which i'd give 5 stars but their red curry is not good. It wasn't horrible but this is my favorite Thai dish and theirs was watery and not much flavor. I expect creamy and full of spices. I've had the garlic dish and the drunken noodles and both were good but definitely not the best Thai around. Their staff is super friendly.

We loved the food we ordered -- exceptionally tasty tofu green curry and beautiful little veg fresh rolls and perfectly chewy-soft brown/red rice. Prices were a little higher than expected ($16 for curry) but the taste and quality and quantity of the food more than made up for it. The ambiance was lovely and cute.

We have been to this s cool, funky and outstanding restaurant almost every week since we moved into the Northwood neighborhood. Simply put: its the best Thai food ive ever had. my wife and I have tried most things; LOVE moneybags and Malakor roll for apps and im completely hooked on yaki soba. everything is fresh, bursting with flavor and the staff/family feels like you are eating in someones home. Eddie is at the front ;always there with a warm smile and an attitude of "welcome back to our home-what can i get you". this is a great addition to an up coming neighborhood. that is full of terrific people and great new intimate style restaurants. in a world of mediocre restaurants with so-so service this place is consistently 5 star. i feel the prices are reasonable for the portions. give this place a try and you will see what everyone is raving about.

Amazing! I have had my fare share of Thai and Malakor is one of my FAVS! Drunken noodle is fantastic! Dish consisted of an assortment of veggies(asparagus, peppers, carrots, tomatoes, and snow peas) and I ordered it with pork. Great flavors and they use wide noodles :) I also have tried their massamon curry which was also fabulous . I like the use of avocado and sweet potatoes. If you like Thai you will love this place! And if you don't like Thai this restaurant may change your opinion on that!

Delicious food!! I don't know if it's the owner or manager, but she is a Thai woman with glasses and is always kinda rude. The servers and food are always great so I look past it, but that woman needs to lighten up.

Thought the food was great as it was just spicy hot and enjoyed the Thai noodles with chicken. I am a little fussy as what to eat so when I explained to the waiter the exact way I enjoyed my food prepared it came out exactly with no mistakes as o freshness and taste. Delicious I will return when visiting areas

I love this place. The food is very consistent and always flavorful. The variety is standard American Thai food and sushi. The location may bother some in Northwood but I have never had any sort of issue. The place is small and has some outside seating. I have had both the Thai and sushi and both have been very good. The only small issue I have is the spiciness of the food is hard to gauge. I like spicy food so it makes no difference when it gets spicy. It is my second favorite Thai restaurant in the area.

Ok, being the total good snob that I am, I am completely impressed with Malakor. The atmosphere is charmingly refreshing for the slightly questionable neighborhood. I know the restaurant was given great reviews by others but I was not prepared to have my taste buds sing hallelujah. Finally, excellent Thai food. The spring rolls were full of flavor and crunch. The Tom kha was otherworldly; Creamy, complex and perfectly balanced. The pad Thai was really good, I just prefer mine a tiny bit more tart. We also got sizzling plate which is meat and spinach in a peanut sauce. Ask for extra sauce. It's undiluted by meat broth or water from the spinach. Very happy. Very full. This will be my Thai go to from now on. :-)

Went here tonight with my mother and had an excellent meal. We were seat promptly by the host and ordered a crispy money bag for an app, I had the green curry, my mother had the Tom kha shrimp and the hangover rolls. I liked the presentation of the money bag and its crispness but wasn't crazy about how mushy it was inside, I couldn't detect any of the pineapple it was supposed to have however my mom really crazy about it. My curry was pretty good but definitely could have used more spice. My mother's soup was EXCELLENT, I wish I had ordered that instead. The hangover roll which had tuna crab imitation, roe, etc but no rice was blah, would definitely not order again. All in all I had a good time, the restaurant decor was fun and the dining room very small, but it also had a nice outside patio with music playing, and the waitstaff were polite and pretty prompt, and the prices were very reasonable. I would definitely come back here again.

I was driving around, heading generally downtown and there it was. Cheerful looking , with happy folks on the small patio. Inside is cozy, with a lot of activity at the sushi bar. Fresh spring rolls, with a little flair were great. I also had the crab cakes appetizer, which was delicious with a little aioli drizzle and some sweet chili sauce. Glad I went.

My first time here was about two weeks ago. I was looking for a new Thai place to try out and I absolutely loved it. It was a little on the small side for space but service, atmosphere, and most definitely food was great. Very authentic shrimp pad Thai and Thai tea. Definitely coming back!!

Fresh experience at Malakor the other night and long-overdue reunion with good friends, which always makes for a great evening. The atmosphere here was over-the-top South Florida meets Thailand. A giant artistic mural of Thailand occupies one wall and the ceiling is dripping with some sort of Christmas-meets-southeast Asia lighting action. The staff at Malakor were super helpful. They recommended the money purses, which were amazing (and, thankfully, contained none of the money that our server made us promise to her should we find any). The main courses were explosions of color and flavor. I went with the pedantic pad Thai, which was tossed in a rich peanut sauce with terrific kick. I absconded with a bite of pad see-ew from JP's plate, and was equally pleased with its balanced sweet and savory notes. Fresh vegetables adorned that plate, which a pile of sprouts and orchid blossom accompanied the pad Thai. Across from us, a beautiful fish (bass?) appeared over a delicious looking curry. Fortunately for this dining companions their dishes were beyond the reach of my chop sticks... I don't get the Asian fusion thing here in Florida (there is a random sushi bar...), and the prices were a bit on the high side. Still, the experience was very nice overall and I would definitely return here for Thai cuisine.

Way too much hype Good: friendly service Spring roll appetizer excellent Bad: way too pricey for what you get $21 for shrimp pad Thai is steep considering the noodles were bathed in a weird sauce and the shrimp tasted fishy. Beer barely cold Tables outside in front have no place to put your legs anywhere but out to the side

We went here on Friday really in the mood for some good Thai food and were not disappointed! There was about a 15 minute wait, so we sat outside and had a glass of wine. Both inside and outside of the building is decoraed so over the top, that it was actually nice to wait outside with my wine and look around. When we sat inside we had a nice table by the window. The Server was very friendly and helpful in helping us pick a sushi appetizer. We chose the volcano roll as she recommended, and she was right on point! For my main course, I ordered the seafood combo panang curry. It was delicious, and had a very generous portion of seafood. It went extremely well with the bottle of hot sake we ordered. For desert we had some sort of banana coconut egg roll with ice cream. It was delicious and if I wasnt sooo stuffed, I wouldve devoured it. It was a fantastic night, great food, excellent service, and a nice relaxing atomsphere. I cant wait to go back!

Great little lunch spot, classic Thai and sushi. Pad Thai was better than most recipes around here to my taste. Dumplings were very good, my daughter said they were the best she ever had! All dishes tried were good. Food, prices, service 5 stars, I'm adding this little Thai to my regular haunts....

I drool thinking about my first experience here and I can't wait to go back. I sampled Pad Cha, Pad Thai and I ordered the basil fried rice with beef. My better half had the whole fried snapper which I didnt try but he loved it. The service was impeccable and they offer really beautiful brown rice. Its in Northwood which also has relish so the place I used to associate with gunfire is now my new foodie hotspot!! Next time I plan to try the sushi which my MT said was great.

The food was excellent! I loved the crab fried rice so much I took and order to go for my lunch the next day. Sushi was fresh and yummy! The restaurant itself was very cute and cozy but very loud. It was hard to hear the person sitting across from me because everyone in the room was so loud. I suggest dining outside. Other then that everything was great!

Stopped in for a light dinner with my husband. Our server Penny was so nice and helped us choose a few things to share with a couple of drinks. The shrimp and chicken dumplings were the best I've ever had! The green curry was perfect with the vegetables cooked just right. Read another review where they complained about not being served enough rice. Just ask. They are happy to bring more if you want it! Nice selection of wine and beer. Can't wait to go back. Thanks for a great evening Penny!

Thai food yes! Malakor Thai is like a wonderland inside. This place is decorated with such an attention for detail and talent that it will amaze you. The walls are HAND PAINTED. They have tables that are again hand painted. The floor... you guessed it hand painted. On top of having a great spot that makes you feel like you are in Thailand they have amazing food as well. Their curries are delicious and the sushi is top notch.

Came here for lunch while exploring Northwood. Nice clean colorful atmosphere. The food is definitely not authentic but fairly good, especially if you are a sugar addict. Like every Thai restaurant in the area that follows the principal that a lot of sugar makes food more delicious, this place is no exception. In saying that, it is one of the better thai restaurants in the area.

OMG, I love this place! I love this place because I can walk to it and because I am addicted to small restaurants that serve up big time flavor. The staff are wonderful and will give you recommendations as well as how hot "Thai Hot" really is (they make a distressed face and wave their hands around their mouths). My favorite, favorite menu item is the money bag starter which are small, fried "money bags" filled with curried veggies that taste so comforting and fresh. They come with a sweet and sour dipping sauce. For my entree, I always get the Tom Kha Soup with shrimp. This soup is made with coconut milk and lemongrass and has the freshest flavor ever. I am so stuck on it! What else...the green curry is fab as well as everyone's staple-pad thai. The restaurant is located in an up-and-coming area of West Palm Beach north of downtown. They have parking lot parking as well as street parking and there is outdoor and indoor dining as well. Eat here. Now. Tell them the girl who sits at the same table and orders the Tom Kha sent you.

Coming back to Miami from Orlando, very hungry and looking for some good food. My trusty Yelp app led me to this place, saw the great reviews and decided to stop by. Honestly, I'm not sure whether they were having an off night or maybe I just ordered the wrong dish, but my PHO was not good at all. I tried adding kimchee to change the taste a bit, but I couldn't save it. The appetizers were good, but their entrees lacked flavor. Also, I was not at all impressed with their service. Very slow and I must've asked for things two or three times. I have Thai food frequently, but unfortunately this place was nothing to rave about.

Tucked away in a little, "hipsteresque" brightly painted building one will find the Malakor Thai Café. Recently, I had the opportunity to have dinner with my father and brother at this gastronomic local. The eatery offers an eclectic variety of different Asian fare that molds to the most daring palates. The location is fantastic, as the restaurant takes you off the beaten path and exposes you to a trendy, artsy, and increasingly young professional neighborhood known as Northwood. If you haven't heard of this area before, the Northwood section of West Palm Beach is a place certainly worth visiting. About a five-minute drive north on Dixie Highway from downtown WPBI, this new community offers a wide variety of restaurants, shops, cultural events, parks, and much much more. In fact, rumor has it that developers have been buying land left and right in neighborhood, hoping to construct large apartment complexes that will give many the opportunity to explore and live Northwood. As a restaurant, Malakor Thai Café has a menu that offers it all. To start, I heavily recommend the Thai dumplings or the crispy spring rolls. Both appetizers are loaded with delicious south Asian flavors that are both sophisticated and delicate. If you are looking for something lighter, one can't go wrong with the Thai fresh summer roll. Loaded with crisp garden vegetables, this Asian favorite is a perfect way to start one's culinary journey at this fantastic spot. For those of us who are more daring, I strongly advise one to taste one of Malakor's signature curries. What makes these dishes so special is that they allow the customer to pick a wide from a wide range of red meat, poultry, and seafood to fit everyone's gastronomic needs. Additionally, each curry is jam packed with a plethora of local spices, herbs, and chilies that result in explosive and diverse flavors that stimulate and please even the most complex taste buds. If curry isn't your favorite, you really can't go wrong with their Pad Thai or Drunken Noodles. Both are far better than your standard Thai takeout place, and really should be tried by anyone who enjoys south Asian cuisine. To wash it all down, there is no shame in indulging in one of the many different Asian beers. Tsingtao is always great. To sum it all up, come checkout Malakor and the Northwood area. You might just fall in love with it.

My husband and I went to Malakor for our Anniversary and his big 40th birthday. We had a large party of 16. The staff took such great care of us. It was a busy night and they still managed to make us feel as if we were the only table in the dining room. The food came out perfectly cooked and the flavors were out of this world. I am a concierge at a well known hotel in Palm Beach. I always recommend Malakor to our guests. I always get rave reviews to anyone I recommend it to. Malakor stands up to some of the finest restaurants in Palm Beach!

I'm on the fence about this place. The food was great, the service was decent, but honestly, I felt it was way overpriced for what we got-- especially when there are cheaper and tastier Thai places equidistant from my house or work. We figured since it was our first trip, we'd go with things we know we enjoy and save being a bit more adventurous after we found out if Malakor held up to our litmus test. We had appetizers of seaweed salad, spring rolls, dumplings, crispy money bags. The presentation was fabulous and the taste was excellent. Spices blended together perfectly so that each bite was just as good as the last. Our entrees were chicken in cashew sauce and chicken pad thai. Given the flavorful setup that we had with the appetizers, I think I was hoping that our entrees would be a little more than what they were. They weren't bad, but there wasn't anything special about them. The chicken in cashew sauce was somewhat bland other than the overabundance of onions in the dish. There was some taste to the actual sauce, but my personal preference is that there could have been more. I don't know what it was missing, but it was missing something. The pad thai wasn't bad, but it was pretty standard and run-of-the mill. I'd go here again, but it wouldn't be my first stop in the neighborhood. I felt a little ridiculous walking out of here with an $80 bill, even though I really had no complaints about anything else.

Definitely a great Thai eatery. Restaurant is located in northwood which is a not that chill neighborhood, but the place itself is clean and welcoming. I've dined here several times now, and I'm never disappointed. Menu is simple and delicious. Clean, fresh, and authentic cuisine. Staples like pad Thai and satay are present and flavorful. A little on the pricey side, but nothing out of place for a restaurant in west palm. There's also not a whole lot as far as seating goes so make sure you call ahead, especially on weekends. Overall, I would recommend this place to looking for a good Thai place in the west palm.

Amazing food and very friendly and attentive staff. Best Pad Thai in town hands down! Nice tropical patio in the back, with water feature and a fish tank. The inside is cozy with a beautiful hand-painted mural of a Thai landscape. Been here a gazillion times and have never had a bad experience. I can only go 10 days without a Pad Thai fix from Malakor. Addictive!

Yum yum yum...delicious, tucked away thai restaurant you would never know was there. Had the money bags appetizer and drunken noodles. Soup delicious also. Didn't try any rolls as I don't understand the mixing of ethnic foods. Anyway fabulous thai food! Fun atmosphere but like more comfy chairs.

Very nice atmosphere, cool garden. I had the drunken noodles, which i though was very flavorful, tasted fresh and lots of veggies which i love! I will be back! $9 for lunch which is not bad, my dish came with a side salad (ginger dressing was also very tasty!). Portion size was very generous.

Went to dinner with two others on a Wednesday evening. As others have stated the decor is very nice and well done. We started with the bok choy appetizer. I liken it to the baked kale that is showing up on menus now. Very similar is taste and mouth feel. Quite good and not a filling app. One guest had the Pad Thai Shrimp and the other had a seafood medley with noodles. Both dishes were well received and were delicious. I had the Crispy Duck Pad Thai. Very good dish. Flavors for all three dishes were fresh and tasty. My only somewhat negative would be the heat index. One guest and I have had quite a bit of Thai food around and we know the heat scale is not standardized....but I asked for a 4 because I like spicy and my waitress recommended against it because their 3 was spicy....not so. My guest had the 3 and she said it was a light 3. Hey, no deal killer ...jus sayin. It won't keep me from returning and I'll insist on a 4 heat. Watch, I'll probably get annihilated. The prices lean slightly to the high side as all our entrees were in the $21 to $25 range but we had the duck, shrimp etc so that's to be expected. I'd give it a 3.5 if I could but that's not an option with Yelp. Go give the place a try...pretty good.

This is a great Thai restaurant. The decor is fun and tropical and the restaurant was very intimate. We came in for dinner on a Sunday and was surprised how busy it was. Not every table was taken, but there was only two or three that was empty. We ordered the fried calamari and the special gyoza (Japanese pan fried dumplings). The calamari was a little too tough but I was blown away with the gyoza. You could taste how fresh it was. We ordered the seafood drunken noodles and the lard na. I was so happy to see how loaded it was with vegetables. It was excellent, I could not stop eating! Portions are large. The service was good. The wait staff still need to work out their timing regarding when to take our orders and when to serve the drinks. That was the only real negative part. But the moment the food was ready they do send it to the table immediately. I do not live in Florida but do visit West Palm at least once a year. I just hope the restaurant will still be here! I am sooo coming back!!!!

FIRST THINGS FIRST: HALF PRICE SUSHI HAPPY HOUR 5-7PM Monday through Thursday. This is only until the end of October. If for no other reason, go for the sushi. I feel like a traitor to my favorite Thai hangout, but Malakor is a treat. It's not just the food. There's a lady there, who was our server - I have to wonder if she is the owner. You are greeted with welcoming smiles, from the guys cleaning the patio and watering the plants outside to this nice lady who gave us our choice of which booth we'd like. She asked us right away about our drinks, and brought them out quickly. Our orders were ready. My dinner pal ordered three of the biggest, most amply proportioned sushi rolls I have ever seen. All half price! I ordered Thai Summer rolls which are the coolest substitute for a boring old salad! These were served with a very special kind of peanut sauce. This was not run-of-the-mill peanut sauce. It just had a different Kick to it. I could not eat this whole appetizer myself so I had to share those and there were still two pieces left. I ordered my usual Panang chicken for dinner with brown rice. The portions at Malakor are better than ample. I'm sorry I didn't have room for dessert. The sushi rolls we ordered were the Zumba Roll, Spicy Tuna and a Lobster Roll (Yes! Even that was half price!) That Lobster Roll - my apologies for not taking a photo. It was so beautifully presented. It had a fried lobster tail that is not only rolled into the sushi roll, but they present 3 or 4 large pieces of the fried tail, atop the actual shell, on a bed of shredded carrots and plated with a special mayo/sauce. On the same platter, they present the roll with a Martini glass, fresh flower garnish, full of shredded crab meat & carrots in some kind of light sauce. This was incredibly artful to behold. It is the best sushi roll I have ever tasted in my life. So fresh, packed with perfectly cooked pieces of lobster tail. Almost too pretty to eat. The other rolls were prepared with the same attention and more or less affection. This chef must really love what he does. It borders on art. Seriously. The Panang was spiced perfectly, and the broth was lighter than other Panangs I have enjoyed. The carrots are crinkly cut, and not just little bits and pieces. The blend of green and red bell pepper, snow peas and the carrots were just gorgeous, made more authentic by rough cut stalks of lemongrass. The chicken was so fresh and the portion was such that I had to box what I could not possibly finish. That nice server, she boxed it up and informed me that she gave me more brown rice. I have never had anyone do that without asking - and usually feeling a little embarrassed to do so. This place is very clean, the service excellent and the garden outside would be ideal for cocktails on cooler evenings or less humid days. The tables, I inquired about, were hand painted by the Owner. This really is a great place for a date. I don't think there's wine but they serve beer. Better call and ask if its BYOB. They have a lot of soft drinks but also juices, bottled waters and teas. Free parking and lots of it. It's in Northwood, but it really is very pleasant. I will make a point to visit Malakor very often.

We were working at the tradeshow since food choice here was terrible we decided to place a Togo order which was done thru " dudes" delivery which btw, the driver was great! I wish I had take photos of the food because the pad kee mao's noodle looked absolutely discussing, it looked like a big piece of gooey doughy had been dropped on the plate after it was already prepared, the egg roll was soggy and greasy, we took a bite, but could not eat the rest. My chicken Thai basil was ok thou. Maybe it is the to go food that sucks because with almost 5 stars on yelp one would thing that it's safe to order from there.... Oh btw , they didn't send any plasticware with the food, so if you are placing order to go don't forget to give them a quick reminder. The driver from the " dude" delivery service was kind enough to offer me to get those from another restaurant.

I am Thai and it is hard to find authentic Thai restaurants. This place is so legit! Thanks to my sister for taking me here. She knows how much I love and crave a true Isan (NorthEastern) Thai food. We ordered from Thai menu so I hope whatever I ordered are on the English menu. Let's just get to the food. PAPAYA SALAD - oh my goodness. It's exactly what I've been looking for. Extra spicy served with pork rinds and a side of sticky rice. That is as Isan as you can get. PAD SEE EEW - my favorite Thai noodle dish. They nailed it. Loved loved the flavor. It was so savory. If you have never tried it (besides your regular Pad Thai), be adventurous and give this dish a try. PAD THAI (Ko-rad style) - The bomb. Two thumbs up delicious. PAD CHA - If you can handle red curry, you will do just fine with this dish. BAMBOO SHOOT SOUP - I've never ever seen this dish being offered on your typical Thai restaurants .. EVER! Amazing amazing. There are outdoor seating area and also Tiki hut style in the back area. Food was fast. Price was decent. I really wish we have this Thai restaurant in Connecticut!

Best Thai I've had in a loooooong time I had the Pad Thai the first time and then 2 days later couldn't get enough. Went back for more and had the Pad Cha! So amazing! I cannot rave enough about how fresh everything is there. Looks like they grow their own lemongrass and Thai basil right outside the restaurant! Portions are very generous and they are more than willing to cater to any dietary restrictions. Not to mention the service is fantastic. Never had to ask to get a refill on my water and they smiled the whole night through. My favourite part was how they have a separate menu for Thai speaking folk, so you know it's authentic! The restaurant isn't big, so recommend reservations! And lunch is pretty awesome too! Try any of their Thai dishes and their sushi as well. Lots of options are available for Vegan eaters and Vegetarians a like.

I absolutely love this place! The first time my husband and I went in we had an emergency and had to leave shortly after sitting down - our waiter was sooo helpful and asked if we wanted to place a to-go order - that it would be super speedy. He let us stay at the table, brought waters, AND rushed our food order! We've been back in since and the service is great and the food is delicious! Also, don't forgot about half price sushi during limited weeknight hours - yay!

Malakor is a small, quiet, place a bit out of the way in the "improving" town of Northwood, just North of West Palm Beach. We arrived for a very late lunch just before they opened for dinner at 5 p.m. They will still setting up and hadn't turned on all the lights when we went to the door hoping for an OK meal, since we were hungry. They eared their first star by welcoming us with a smile, seating us at a clean table near a large window, giving us water, menus, and another smile saying, "We open in five minutes and will be happy to serve you now." The soft shell crab roll we ordered as an appetizer had real soft shell crab! The two ends of the roll were made with long crab claws filled with a generous portion of baby asparagus. My diding partner didn't appreciate the roll's resemblance to something that was once alive, so I got to eat both ends. I have no such aversion so I savored the two claws, the asparagus filling, and the crunchy crust. The roll tasted fresh, it was deeply flavored but not terribly spicy, and we enjoyed every bite. The garnish of fresh carrot, wasabi, and ginger added to the excellent taste and allowed the adjustment from mild to spicy. The flavor, presentation, and texture are easily worth the second star of the evening. My dining partner had Chicken in Ginger Sauce and mixed vegetables. It was served with a side of brown, crunchy rice with flavors that are unique Thai. The dish was mild and full flavored. The portion size was a filling meal, generous snacking, and a big lunch plus a little to save. The all white meat chicken was especially tasty and survived my taking several samples without reducing the volume on the plate. The Chicken in Ginger Sauce is easily worth another dish worth a star or more. It is enough to share for two. My Pad kie mao (drunken noodles) was ordered with pork and 3 (on a 1 to 5 scale) spicy. The spice was exactly right, the noodles were correctly chewy while each of the vegetables tasted just picked fresh. The vegetables provided a nice mix of color and texture with red and green peppers, okra, string beans, served in a brown sauce. This was a three glass of water dish, the water came by frequently to ensure my glass was refilled and I was enjoying the meal. The pork was thin sliced in larger pieces that could just be separated with chop sticks, although they thoughtfully provided knives and forks. The portion size left enough for today's lunch - so I was able to award fourth star of the meal with a smile and a full stomach. Many restaurants we search out are worth three and four stars. It is harder to "objectively" award a fifth star. Several factors earned Malakor Thai Café their fifth star: They were friendly and accommodating, inquiring to our spicy tastes, tending to our dining needs without intruding, and explaining dishes when we looked puzzled. The place was very clean, quiet, properly lit (once they actually opened), and friendly feeling. The other patrons were clearly regulars and the staff knew we would enjoy the meal. The meal was inexpensive for the quantity and quality of food we enjoyed. Maybe very inexpensive would be a better description. Much more costly than fast food, but a very fair price for fresh prepared tasty "exotic" food. Finally, the fact that we really enjoyed our lunch (now turned to dinner) earned them their fifth star.

Thus is one of those places where no combination of words can truly insinuate the fine experience. There is a reason the reviews are so good and just by taking a look at the photos you can see the quality. Some foods are good... Then others have a beautiful complexity so layered that it is like a trip to Thailand. There is no bite that is single flavored. The soups..... I had no idea that a soup could be so transformative and seductive. The Thai tea... The coconut water.. The mango roll, red curry, green curry, duck, chicken, steak salad, mango and sticky rice desert.... Food heaven... Spiritual experience with exceptional service and atmosphere.

I was visiting West Palm Beach for the day and utilized Yelp to help find a great Sushi place as my friend from Morrocco and I were craving Sushi. The first choice was closed and we happened i'm to this Thai sushi place. I am so glad that I found this place! The food was phenomenal was not sure what the crowd would be like on memorial day weekend we got that instantly. There was a very neat Thai decor and a tiki hut out back to eat as well. I eat sushi a few times a week in the Miami area and let me tell you this place was excellent!!! I had the crispy bok choy - delish but a little oily for my friend- as well as the sashimi appetizer which were both priced great. We then had the Malakor role as well as Ellfy's roll- and a specialty Zumba Tuna roll as well. Each of these roles were outstanding. The roll named after the restaurant was fantastic however I really enjoyed the Elffy's roll! I don't think you could go wrong with any sushi roll in here. And because of my prior trip to Thailand I wanted to try a Thai dish- so I got a form of pad Thai called pad Ke Mao with beef- and asked for it spicy- waitress said- "1out of 5 spicy?" I asked for 4 and was sweating lol Thank Buddha I had an ice cold Singha Thai beer to put out the fire ;) If I'm ever back in WPB, I'd make it a point to get my ass here to eat.

I've been here before and had a different experience as my previous review indicates. However, I was very pleased with the service and the food on this visit. Our server Penny was delightful and attentive. I ordered the pangang curry with jasmine rice and it was delicious. They serve wine which is my preference as I don't like sake, but my friend drank a sake martini which tasted surprisingly good. He had the red curry (my previous dish) which I didn't try this time but he had no complaints. I can't wait to go back!

Arrived just after happy hour ended. The sushi rolls are all half off with the exception of 2 or 3 specialty rolls. Started with the crispy papaya salad and bok choy. The bok choy was amazing! Crispy papaya salad was very good. The Tom kha soup was probably one of the best we have had in south Florida. Well bodied and balanced full of flavor. We tried one roll, elffies roll. It was tempura shrimp with salmon and tuna on the outside. The roll was decent, I think it would have been better if it was on the happy hour special. Looking forward to returning to try more rolls!

Start with the fact they have their own parkinlg, honor their reservations and greet you warmly. The dumplings & purses were excellent , intensity of spice as ordered only minor dissapointment assorted sea food Pad Thai - didn't j have the full assortment of seafood as advertised. Still drllcious

Had dinner here. Had the Tom Kha Shrimp, it was very good. Also had Penang curry, which was a large portion. Also good. Would definitely go back. Ambiance was fine, in a part of town with many restaurants, we were there at ~8:30pm on a Thursday so it was pretty quiet

I frigging love this place and eat take-out at least twice a week. I was a Thai fan before they opened, and of course, proximity to my house helps, but they serve fresh, delicious food that keeps me coming back more than I should (financially). The Tom Kha soup (a hot, liquid, coconut wonder) is so great. I get it with chicken, but my cats usually eat the chicken as I'm mainly in it for the mushrooms and broth. I also like the Soy Sauce Noodles as they are really thick- a perfect comfort dish. But my favorite, my addiction, is the Green Curry. I used to order Pad Thai or Panang Curry, but a friend insisted I try Green and I have never looked back. Chicken or fish - Green Curry rocks my world (ok, so my life is not thrilling, but still...) The staff is nice and the restaurant is lovely inside and on the patio, though I prefer my curry on my couch.

Overall, I was not impressed with the food. The papaya salad I ordered didn't have as much papaya as it did carrots and also wasn't very flavorful. The sushi was nothing impressive. And the pad Thai was also lacking flavor and bean sprouts. For the high prices, I expected more. If at least 2 out of the 3 of our dishes were good, I'd go back. But we both didn't care too much for any of them.

Amazing, best Thai in West Palm Beach, I live 45mins away and it's always worth the drive. The green curry is my favorite, the staff is always courteous and attentive!

Really fresh, great service. Would give 5 stars but one of ours had a hair in the chicken. But otherwise the pad Thai was spot on, Penang curry was brilliant and the sushi rolls were fresh and delicious. Service was also on point.

Sushi was excellent. Especially enjoyed spicy tuna rolls & the Alaskan rolls. The Panaang Curry and Thai fried rice was very yummy. Pad Thai was a little on the sweet side. Charming, cozy atmosphere as well with beautiful decor.

I made the drive to this just-a-bit off the beaten path to this lovely restaurant and I sure am glad that I did! Wow, the food was truly excellent. I was there by myself for lunch so I wasn't able to order nearly as much as I would have liked to. It is always so much more fun to go to a Thai restaurant with a few friends so you can order a nice variety. I ordered the Tom Kha Chicken soup. This is the soup by which I judge a Thai restaurant. If the Tom Kha sucks, the rest of the meal probably will too. Oh Happy Day, this was one of the best renditions I have had in years. Not too sweet, creamy but not thick, no unwelcome additions like tomatoes or green peppers. Nope just a creamy broth flavored with galanga, lemongrass, kaffir lime, cilantro and scallions and no pieces of lemongrass that I had to pick out of the soup. Nice sized pieces of chicken breast were nestled along side baby bella mushroom quarters with fresh cilantro and scallions sprinkled generously on top. I enjoyed it to the very last drop. It was so good, I considered ordering a second bowl for myself but it is very filling and truly I need to learn to control myself. It was just so darn good. I did, however, order a bowl to-go for my daughter who also loves this soup. The Yum Woon Sent salad was perfect. Clear cold rice noodles tossed with freshly sauteed chicken and shrimp. Fresh shredded romaine, carrots, scallions, mint, cilantro and peanuts all bathed in a tangy lime and fish sauce dressing. DELICIOUS! I adore this salad and can hardly pass it up if it is on the menu. I honestly don't know how they could have improved it. There was plenty of everything and the serving was very generous and everything was very fresh. After the rich soup, I was already getting full so I took half of this home to enjoy at a later time. The atmosphere at Malakor is especially relaxing. I sat outside on the side terrace and enjoyed a gentle breeze at a cafe table surrounded by blooming orchids and Buddhist sculptures. The played lovely music which really added to the Zen-like atmosphere.Just a few doors west of Old Dixie on 25th Street in the Northwood section, this is a destination worth venturing to. Skip City Place and Clematis and drive up to Northwood. You won't be sorry. I live 60 miles away from Malakor but I am already working on an excuse to go to West Palm Beach very soon so that I can enjoy this delightful restaurant again. Perhaps next time I will have a friend along so we can order something besides Tom Kha and Yum Woon Sent, as I already hinted, I am in a bit of a rut.

This is probably the most authentic Thai restaurant in Palm Beach County. The food is very flavorful and portions large. I like how they have the Thai style papaya salad with the salted crab and their drunken noodles with seafood was spectacular. Ambience is cute and homey and the service was polite. We declined dessert after all our selections were sold out, but they brought out an ice cream for my friends birthday anyways which I though was nice.

This place had a nice ambiance inside and outside. The wait staff was kind and attentive. I had the drunken noodles and was happy with it. It could have been more spicy to my Taste but c'est la vie!

The food is always AMAZING!! Fresh, tasty...service is sometimes slow...but well worth it!! You won't go hungry while you wait for the next course ;-) My mom lived in Thailand for three years and I was fortunate enough to be able to visit a few times... it's the real deal, this is what I crave when I want traditional Thai! Great local spot..enjoy!

First time here. Ordered the ginger sauce /chicken. Service was great. Very polite, informative, and fast. Food was great except when I was asked how spicy I want my chicken on a scale of 1 to 10 and I said 6, I think he laughed inside and wrote 12 . CLEARED MY SINUSES. The springs on my seat were a little worn but I found a nice spot. I would definitely return. Oh and the prices were 3 out of 5, 5 being high. I spent $25 (including tip) by myself. Good experience overall.

  • Naveed B.

Staff was very friendly 5/5 and the food was 3.5/5. I though the drunken noodles were not as drunken as I'm used to and the actual noodles themselves were far too big. They were cooked properly, but the size and application were wrong in my opinion. Green curry was very good, as expected. Overall, you can do better but you can also do far worse in West Palm (see Sweet Ginger review) lol.

We were in Palm Bch. to dive and spend the night. We wanted something different, and looked up Thai restaurants close by. This is a cute, intimate little restaurant. Service is polite and courteous; the ambiance very nice. We started with the house wine (which was fine), and the seared Tuna Tataki- it was wonderful- and the presentation-WOW. The tuna artfully sat on carrot threads, and in the center of the plate was a rose made of tuna! Presentation on everything that went by was outstanding. Our entrée was Pad Cha- also great! We ordered it medium, as we had not been to this restaurant before, and didn't know how hot "hot" would be. They brought extra spice on the side, and next time we'll order it hot, but not Thai hot. It was the perfect ending to a great day. We'll be back!

Started with the pan fried Thai dumplings... They're huge and delicious. For a main I ordered beef green curry, five star spicy. The curry was flavorful and creamy, veggies were fresh, and the beef was tender. I love the fact that there was asparagus and eggplant in the dish. My friend are the dragonfly roll - shrimp tempura, avocado, and asparagus - fresh and delicious. Topped off the dinner with red bean ice cream. I will definitely be coming back!

We went to Malakor for the Thai food only. We ordered the Garlic Delight with pork and the one of the curries with chicken. They were both decently tasty (but definitely catered to the American palate). Something that took us by surprise - in a good way - was that it seemed as though all the ingredients in our dishes were fresh. As in fresh - not previously frozen. Of course I can't really confirm that, but I can make that assumption based on my "extensive foodie experience". Ha! Along with our entrees, we were also each served our own plate with a single scoop of rice. We were a bit taken aback by this since at most other Asian restaurants you are served a large container full of rice that you and your party can share and help yourselves to. Thought that was kind of weird, especially when the both of us finished our rice and didn't feel we had had enough! Another thing is that when me and my husband split our dishes, I'm pretty sure we got some funny looks from the staff! I mean, "family style" isn't really that unheard of, is it?! Haha, I guess that's just not a customary thing to do here in the Palm Beaches. Finally, and disappointingly, they didn't have mango sticky rice available since mangos are a seasonal fruit. I guess that's not really their fault, but it would have been nice to know prior to getting excited about one of our favorite desserts, only to be let down. But in looking at other reviews here we will try and make it back soon to try the sushi or other Thai entrees.

The order was made incorrectly and overall everything was extremely bland. Their rice has no flavor and the fish didn't taste fresh. I will not be eating here again.

This restaurant is wonderful. It's a cute small place with a nice relaxing vibe. The service is great. The food is phenomenal. The portion sizes are kind of large; I think 2 people can split any meal, even the lunches. I had the shrimp pad thai in a ginger dressing. It was so delicious. Flavorful and well-prepared. Their jasmine tea is wonderful. I have not tried the sushi yet so I can't report on that yet. The best part is that you can have a nice quiet lunch there; delicious food, amazing service and unbelievably low prices. I have zero complaints. LOVE.

Everything is amazing here. The warm atmosphere, gentle welcoming smiles of the staff. The food is fresh, flavorful making the quality better than anything I've found in South Florida. This little gem will not fail your taste buds! I recommend the green curry, pad woon sent, tom Kha soup, Dragon fly roll. I aim to try everything on the menu but that's what I've had so far :)

The most authentic Thai food in Miami. The service is very very friendly. I got the egg noodle soup that hit the spot for me. The Ambient is very nice, walk to the back, it's built out like a hut. Remind of Thailand as you can smell the well Bamboo on a hot day just right after the rain.
